Healthcare management of livestock is very essential during monsoon season as the climate change predisposes to infectious diseases and subsequent production failure in animals. North East monsoon that gives a good rainfall to northern parts of Tamil Nadu creates water stagnation and inundation in low lying areas.
Animals raised in such localities certainly need a health check up in order to protect them from production failure and mortality. It is the responsibility of Veterinarians to work in association with the Government in preventing diseases during every monsoon period.
